Is any one also experiencing them recently on EU servers? Internet connectivity is fine. I can log in and play other online games including gw2. Some people from the ally also reported issues. Anyone knows anything about it?

UK based here and getting disconnected, then offered a chance to reconnect, only for it to fail and boot me back to character selection screen.

usa and yesterday I got dc'd as well...so probably something bigger going on..(it took a few tries for me to get back in but it did let me back in).

I have the same problem and im from the UK. Deleting the Gw.dat file seems to work temporarily but then the connection drops again. Are you using wireless or ethernet?

hi people,
gwguru is still my favourite forum to check into for guildwars feedbacks <3 although its been awhile sicne i posted.
anyway, i also experience d/c's a lot recently(4-5 days now) i couldnt get a 5 winning streak in RA without erroring the last 5 days.a nd its not because i am still so bad

greetings and i hope the issue is fixed soon so i can play my favourite game again <3

Wireless, but this is not proving to be any trouble for other games/services.

I tried both ethernet and wireless - playing on EU servers. I gave up for the moment. I will try tomorrow or day after.

connection had just been fine for at least three days
but today , riht now actually when i tried to connect i laaged out again
maybe someone else experience at exact this time the connection issue too?

I havent had any more issues since my above post...play just about everyday for at least an hour...and logged in this morning and did a few quests with no issues.

Haven't been able to play as much as I have in the past 3 or 4 weeks, but have had no serious connection issues here. A couple of times I was "red lighting" and played a different character than my normal, working on a true survivor, ~320k exp, 0 deaths.

Hi, long time lurker and may I say I appreciated what I've learned from reading stuff here this past year. Thanks guys.

I registered finally cause I never saw anyone here give the real reason for the latest big lag/DC problems a few days ago. So a FYI follows from what I learned. Hope this helps some and sorry for the length of the post. Just thought all GW1 players here should know what was happening.

I was told by a friend in game that he had been told it was a massive DDOS (direct denial of service) attack. Since this was third hand I googled around and found out that that was true. It wasn't aimed at GW1 or even GW2 per se (since GW1's server space is merged with GW2 now). It was aimed at some platform that hosts big mega online games -- the Cloudfare network -- so over a half dozen games were hit at the same time. Other networks of this type have been hit too.

Apparently someone(s) calling themselves "Derp Trolling" (lame, right) is doing this and has brought lots of online games to a crippling standstill of massive lags and DC-ing in the last couple of months. Here is a link I found to a discussion on reddit.

Also followed another link that said a game called Wurm is offering a bounty to anyone for the arrest and conviction of this Derp Trolling guy. He is apparently on the cutting edge of DDOS-ing and why he is busy attacking games instead of working for the Russian mafia is beyond me. Maybe it's his revenge for no one picking him in a PUG back in the day, heh.
